New Development and Sales Center to Serve PacketVideo Customers Throughout The European Market

PacketVideo Corporation, a worldwide leader in multimedia software for mobile consumer devices, has considerably strengthened its position in Europe by establishing a regional development and sales center in Tampere, Finland. From the outset, the center focuses on development and sales of advanced multimedia software solutions for PacketVideo’s European mobile operator and handset OEM customers, including mobile music, video, live TV, imaging, and multimedia communications services.

“The launch of our new mobile innovation center in Finland demonstrates PacketVideo’s continued strong commitment to supporting our current and future customers in Europe,” said Dr. James Brailean, Ph.D., CEO, PacketVideo. “This new development and sales unit dramatically enhances our capacity to satisfy the increasing customer demand in the region.”

“This expansion of our capabilities enables us to accelerate our customers’ time to market by providing immediate access to a substantial base of experienced engineering resources,” said Leon Chicheportiche, vice president and general manager, PacketVideo Europe. “This experienced, highly technical team complements our sales and technical support team in Nice, France and is already working to help our customers launch multimedia services in Europe in 2006 and beyond.”

The Tampere mobile innovation center marks the success of PacketVideo’s longstanding presence in Europe, and it will help expand the company’s business in the region. The company plans to recruit more software professionals to the Center, and to partner with other software engineering firms. In Europe, PacketVideo already works with all leading handset OEMs and key mobile operators.

The new unit is led by a team of experienced executives including Jouni H. Leinonen and Jari Kiuru, whose deep industry insights and hands-on knowledge of smart phone creation & platformization are valuable assets in development of advanced multimedia services for PacketVideo's customers.
